Facebook Deals: A Powerful New Social Media Tool For Your Business | RealtyGo_blog

Do your friends like the same deals as you do? Facebook is betting they will!

In their most recent effort to achieve total global internet dominance, Facebook recently released further details on its “Deals” feature.  Similar in concept to Groupon, Facebook Deals allows users to purchase daily-deal vouchers through Facebook.com.  Currently, Facebook is differentiating itself from other group buying sites by only offering deals that provide social interaction. On their website, Facebook states, “Deals gives your business the opportunity to offer people unique social experiences that they can do with their friends. This encourages people to share their excitement about the experience you’re providing, not just the discount you’re offering. For example, some businesses may offer people a 5-course tasting menu, a rock climbing lesson, or a concert package.”

Facebook Deals: The Basics

Once you have made the decision that Facebook Deals is right for your business, contact Facebook through the Deals signup section of their website. Facebook may ask you to provide two pictures for your business.  As with Groupon, you will need to enter information such as the product offered, the discount, and any other relevant information.  With this information, Facebook will list your deal in a format attractive to Facebook users (your potential customers, there are many of them).

Once created, your deals will reach Facebook users through the following mediums:

Facebook Deals for Small Business

In short, Facebook Deals will get your business’s name out in front of many Facebook users within your geographic area.  The deal you create will attract current and new customers to your business, while Facebook’s social networking platform will encourage these customers to share the discount offers with their friends.

We believe Facebook Deals will present significant competition to Groupon, LivingSocial, and other group buying sites.  Although late to the game in social commerce arena, Facebook is famous for perfecting an idea, executing, and taking over the market.  For example, look at the outcome of the Facebook/MySpace battle.  What gives Facebook a leg-up over Groupon is their already enormous user-base as well as their social network platform, which is the most advanced in the world.  When a consumer makes a purchase through Facebook Deals, potentially hundreds of their friends will be notified of this, usually not the case with Groupon.

20 helpful tips your business can use to build web credibility using technology and mobile.

A web site is a must have for all small businesses in today’s digital age but to stand out among the crowd you need to build credibility and use technology, like the internet was designed for. RealtyGo offers QR Codes, SMS/MMS TAG technology, delivering immediate information to prospective buyers, new customers and other real estate business professionals.  Here are 20 tips to help promote your online network, they have worked for our company and I believe will work for you as well:

1. Secure a Unique MobileURL

A “name”  is usually the first impression the customer gets of your business and most likely will use to tie that impression to your for future contact and lead generation. If you’re going to plaster it all over the internet, be sure the name is easy to remember, spell, and more importantly is relevant to the products or service you are selling. A well though out name above your QR Code will create a online resumer of sorts, linking all your listings, social network, websites and professional contact information in one easy to use Mobile friendly application. RealtyGo – Your Real Estate Listings Best Friend!

2. Have a professional looking website and a mobile friendly version.

Tasteful simplicity is usually the way to go. Something too flashy or sales-oriented will drive customers away while an attractive but straightforward layout will denote professionalism. Make sure end users can use their favorite hand held devices, like iPhones, Tablets, iPads, Smartphones, etc to get all your real estate information from advertisements ads, real estate signage, digital ads using your RealtyGo TAG. Also make sure you have your own domain name (www.yourcompanyname.com) and a blog that links from the site. Try Weebly or WordPress for easy, tasteful website building.

3. Showcase Press Coverage

Press coverage is a valuable badge of credibility. In the physical world we see restaurants displaying positive reviews on the door; why not do the same online? Even ask your customers and clients to visit your Mobile real estate application by forwarding them your site or sending an email with your QR Code, asking them to visit your listing and leave a review and/or helpful tips for others about their real estate experiences.

4. Blog

Keeping a well-maintained blog is simply the standard these days. It’s an opportunity for you to engage customers, as well as to demonstrate your vast knowledge of the industry. As stated previously, match the blog to your website and unique MobileURL for a unified brand feel. RealtyGo enables you to add your blog, twitter, facebook, corporate or professional website and much more, for one easy to use application and landing place for end users, needing more information about your real estate business and listings.

Reserve a prominent place on your site, blog and mobile site for users to share their praises, and include pictures to prove these are real people. You can even link out to Trulia, Craigslist or any other social networking sites that end users may find useful.

Similar to your name, a logo can define your business as professional and established. Try to come up with a clean, tasteful stylization of a common word or image relevant to your business. If you need some help, you can consult Logoworks and they will come up with one for you.

They should consider putting howard stern in the mix, im sure he would receive a lot of votes..?

The idea behind the contest is demonstrate the physical-to-virtual capability of QR codes. “They work great for creating interaction between the offline and online worlds,” according to JumpScan co-founder Mike McKearin. “We’re seeing them used for everything from instant mobile purchasing, movie information and streaming video to real estate signage and scavenger hunts.” Get your free QR Code Contact at Scantac.com and start promoting your Scantac

QR (quick response) codes originated in Japan in the mid 90s and surged in popularity in the U.S. with the recent increase in smart phones, such as the Apple iPhone and Google’s Droid, as well as the move to high speed 3G and 4G networks on AT&T, Verizon and Sprint.

“We’re seeing a tremendous interest from brands and marketers looking to capture, connect and interact with consumers on the go,” states Phil Davis, fellow JumpScan co-founder. QR codes have shown up in Best Buy, Target and other large retailers beginning last year, familiarizing a growing number of shoppers to the curious looking black and white boxes. “Once more people are using smart phones with QR scanners, the ease of scanning codes will simplify the process, making it more intuitive,” Davis predicts.

“We’ll be making an announcement in the next couple of weeks about which celeb has the most smart phone fans,” Davis continues. “I know the President is a big Blackberry fan, but I wouldn’t count out Ellen’s base.” If she wins, we’ll even have her do a victory dance.”

Bing, now has 27 percent of the search engine market and is quickly gaining on Google, according to Hitwise.

Comment from an independent individual – “I bought a laptop for my wife about 6 months ago and set up my mother’s laptop today so that she could print 🙂

Anyhow, both had a Bing toolbar preloaded. I’m wondering if the increase in market share has to do with other factors other than consumer choice…”

What’s the verdict? is this post true or false? Microsoft has made no such announcement.
